About the artist:

Born in 1977 in Oran, Algeria, Ali Kaaf graduated from the Institut des Beaux-Arts in Beirut and continued his studies at Universität der Künste in Berlin under the supervision of professors Marwan Kassab Bachi and Rebecca Horn.

Ali is drawn to different mediums and techniques. Through painting, sculpture, video, and installation, he expresses philosophical ideas and reflections on concepts such as presence and absence, matter and space, cultural heritage, and artistic identity.

Ali's works are in collections of Arab and international museums and art institutions, and he has numerous solo and group exhibitions and artistic residencies.
