Alma Salem is a cultural expert and art curator with over thirty years of multidisciplinary experience. She is actively involved in international cultural relations, heritage preservation, and political and feminist activism. She worked with the Institut Français du Proche-Orient, then oversaw regional arts programs at the British Council. She has curated exhibitions exploring the intersection of art and politics, presented alongside international forums. Since 2019, she has served as Executive Director of the Syrian Women’s Political Movement. She consults for governmental and non-governmental cultural institutions and runs her practice, Atelier Alma, a cultural consultancy and art curation firm, in Montreal and Damascus.
