Born in Lebanon in 1938, Hussein Madi graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Beirut in 1962. He continued his studies in Rome. He won several awards and participated in several international exhibitions in Cairo, Baghdad, Kuwait, and Venice. His artworks were displayed in museums in Tokyo, Beirut, Paris, London, Doha, and Sharjah. He also held solo and group exhibitions in different Arab and European cities. The relationship between the female body and silent nature is the most prominent topic of his works. Madi tends to simplify geometric and anatomical shapes in his canvas, and the influence of the cubism tradition is very strong in his works in general, and his sculptures in particular.
